When we are mindful we are in the moment. We focus on what is happening right now, at this very second. When we take the time to take a deep breath, calm our thoughts, and be in the moment, we are mindful.
Sometimes we feel nervous for no reason. Like things are out of our control. When we feel like this, we are having anxiety. Sometimes anxiety causes our breathing to get faster and faster, and our thoughts start to worry about bad things that can happen.
Stress feels like tension in your body. Stress usually comes from having to deal with difficult situations.
Emotions are the different ways we feel in different situations. Emotions include anger, sadness, joy, fear, and disgust. (Although there are many more that we could add to this list!)
